  Hafenvorstadt

Like the Überseetor Quarter, the Hafenvorstadt — with its close proximity to the city centre and the new traffic connection from 2006 — will serve as an inviting introduction to the Überseestadt. In keeping with its industrially heterogeneous structure, the Hafenvorstadt will be characterized on both sides of the Hansator primarily by appealing architecture and its high-quality utilization by offices and service providers. As in the past, the area will be dominated by the Tchibo/Eduscho company and an existing well-developed network of numerous small-scale business enterprises. At the same time, the quarter will be enhanced by the attractive development of the space surrounding the Weserbahnhof, offering potentials for a wide range of new uses. Plans have already been concluded providing for the settlement and development of cultural undertakings, recreational facilities and other activities of the kind suitable for drawing the attention of a wide public: another way in which the Hafenvorstadt will serve to connect the city centre with the Überseestadt.
