The Überseestadt Bremen opens opportunities. This is particularly evident in the already restored historic sheds and warehouses, as in the interesting architecture of the new buildings. Modern working and living environments are developing here that offer a broad spectrum of possible uses.

  • Reconstruction of the Weser downstream section of Schuppen 1 in the Europahafen

  • ”Mobileum“: On the ground floor exhibition and presentation area for historic vehicles from Bremen manufacturers

Improvement of flood protection / development of Überseepark

  • Extension / expansion of the promenade between LandmarkTower and Wendebogen
  • Length: approx. 800 m
  • Width: approx. 4 m
  • Raising of the dikes along Nordkaje in Europahafen by 75 cm (in accordance with the “General Coastal Protection Plan” of 2007)
  • Integration of a step for sitting on the water side
  • Start of construction work: March 2011
  • Completion: end of 2011
  • Funding of the construction project by: Gemeinschaftsaufgabe Küstenschutz (GAK), Senator for the Environment, Construction, Transport and Europe in the Free and Hanseatic City of Bremen, European Union (European Fund for Regional Development)

Marina Europahafen

  • Facilities are suitable for sport boats up to 17 m in length and (passenger) boats from 17 m in length
  • Extension of the sport boat landing stage from just under 100 m in length to approx. 170 m by 2013

  • Landing also possible for canoeists

Extension of the Europahafen promenade

  • Lowering of the wharf facilities and expansion of an upper and lower promenade between Schuppen 1 and Landmark Tower (Nordkaje Europahafen)
  • Length: 1,500 m of new promenade
  • Width: approx. 20 m overall
  • Extension of the existing promenade to link Europahafenkopf and the ”WeserUfer“ district
  • Raising of the flood protection level to meet coastal protection requirements
  • Start of construction work: April 2010
  • Expected completion: mid-2012
  • Cost: EUR 18 million, approved in September 2009 by the Deputation for Economic Affairs and Ports
